I am getting list of MIDI OUT ports using midiOutGetDevCaps() in VC++.

When I set default MIDI OUT to "Out to MIDI Yoke X(1 ~ 8 )",
the "Out To MIDI Yoke: 8" is returned by Windows twice.

If I set default MIDI OUT to "Microsoft GS Wavetable SW" then MIDI Yoke is only 8 but "Microsoft GS Wavetable SW" returned twice and in any case the second one is unable to open by "midiOutOpen" function.

Does somebody know the reason?

I would guess that the second mention is really the MIDI Mapper? Check the ID (the MIDI Mapper is UINT(-1)).

Thanks for your great help!!

For device ID MIDI_MAPPER(= (UINT)-1), I can get windows MIDI Mapper name.

I checked my program in other system which is also having MIDI Yoke, there list perfect.

I think In my system, there may be chance for difference in registry.

If needed I will try uninstalling and installing MIDI Yoke once
