Title: Sysex full frame messages in MIDI Yoke 1.72
Post by stewart on Jun 8th, 2006, 4:27pm
I'm helping to develop some software that, by legacy, sends sysex full frame messages in two parts. Instead of sending one 10 byte message, our app breaks the message apart into 2 pieces: a 6 byte message followed by a 4 byte message.

Using MIDI Yoke version 1.71 and earlier, the two pieces are translated correctly to the slave app as synonymous with a single 10 byte message. But with 1.72, after one full frame message being sent correctly, the two pieces are then sent incorrectly as 4 and 4, two bytes short.

After using other master apps that use a single 10 byte message with good results using 1.72, I’m led to believe that the two piece sysex message is the problem.

I guess I have two questions-

-Is this indeed the case?
-What about 1.72 is different that causes this misinterpretation to the slave app?

Thanks in advance for any help provided-

Not sure.  I am not aware of any two part SysEx full frame message?  The universal one documented in the MIDI spec is:

FULL MESSAGE - (10 Bytes)
F0 7F <chan> 01 <Sub-ID 2> hr mn sc fr F7

What are you sending?
