Title: Where is MIDI Yoke V2 ? Post by rkwb on Dec 9th, 2003, 11:25am Hi Jamie ! I read the announcement of MIDI-OX V7 and besides the lot of great enhancements (my compliments and thanks !!!) I also read, that there is a new version of MIDI Yoke with more ports, which would help simplify my setup. However, I couldn't find a link to the download. Any hint ? thanks and best regards RKW |

Title: Re: Where is MIDI Yoke V2 ? Post by Jamie OConnell on Dec 9th, 2003, 12:48pm The MIDI Yoke with many ports (16 on Win 9x) was released over a year ago. There is no newer version being released right now. |

Title: Re: Where is MIDI Yoke V2 ? Post by rkwb on Dec 9th, 2003, 5:25pm Hi Jamie ! Strange, somehow I missed that one and I still used V1.57..... So I will download it immediately !!! So what is new then in MIDI-OX V7 ? Quote: This release greatly increases the number of MIDI device drivers supported. Until now MIDI-OX could only handle 24 input and 24 output devices at once. This number has been increased to 63 input and 63 output devices. In addition MIDI Yoke will now present up to 16 distinct application ports. Each MIDI Yoke port can be opened by up to 4 applications on each end (input and output). End Quote: Thanks and best regards RKW |

Title: Re: Where is MIDI Yoke V2 ? Post by rkwb on Dec 10th, 2003, 11:40am Hi Jamie ! I guess I see clearer now... MIDI Yoke supports 16 ports on Windows 95/98, only 8 on NT, Windows XP. Right ? Secondly, I had some old midiyoke.dlls lying around somewhere, which got loaded, despite what version I was installing. Once I read the installation instructions a bit more carefully, I saw the hint.... :-( Now I have V1.71 beta, however 8 ports is max and is also greyed out, so it cannot be changed anyway. Still, I would be intersted to understand the statement of MIDI-OX release notes :-) Thanks and best regards Richard |

Title: Re: Where is MIDI Yoke V2 ? Post by Jamie OConnell on Dec 10th, 2003, 2:21pm The quote refered to the Windows 9X version of MIDI Yoke which has already been released. The release notes list all features added since MIDI-OX 6.0 was released and is available here: Change Notes (http://www.midiox.com/moxbeta.htm#feat). From your quote, it looks like you already found that.... |

Title: Re: Where is MIDI Yoke V2 ? Post by rkwb on Dec 11th, 2003, 4:37am Hi Jamie ! Thanks for clarification ! I was just irritated by the release notes, as they did not indicate that this is a Win9x only feature. There is still a lot helpful features in V7 for me. I will start exploring them ;-) Thanks a lot ! RKW |
