Title: MidiYoke - Dedicated IRQs for soundcards? Post by dkistner on Jan 9th, 2003, 5:57pm I'm considering trying to use MidiYoke to feed output from Harmony Assistant (a scoring program) to a VSTi-compatible host so I can listen to compositions played with the VST instruments that I ultimately plan to use as I compose. I've been told it's possible to do this if I use a midi router and use the VSTi host as a "dummy player." I am nervous about even installing MidiYoke, though, because my Echo Mia card has to have its own IRQ and I've also got a Soundblaster Live! installed in my system. In XP, you can't just go in and tell it how to assign the IRQs--not efficiently or well, anyway. I've already disabled my USB ports, which I don't use, and that's gotten my cards on their own IRQs. So I need to know: What's going to happen to my IRQs (working now) if I install MidiYoke? |
