Title: Suggestion for Midi Yoke NT Post by enb141 on Jun 17th, 2002, 12:28am My suggestion is to create an installer like Nvidia's Detonator, etc. so in that way installing the driver will be easier |

Title: Re: Suggestion for Midi Yoke NT Post by Jamie OConnell on Jun 17th, 2002, 12:58am That would be nice. Windows display drivers use a different OS code path for installation, and are based on actual hardware. If I knew of a way to enhance the installer I would do it, but so far, I do not think it is possible for a virtual device driver. Since there is no hardware backing the device, it cannot use plg-and-play, and cannot take advantage of almost all features of the newer .INF install file format. The only way I know of to have Windows reliably install the driver is to use the current method. |

Title: Re: Suggestion for Midi Yoke NT Post by Jamie OConnell on Sep 22nd, 2002, 10:23pm Thanks for the suggestion. MIDI and Audio device drivers are handled differently than drivers from other parts of the system, but the virtual aspect of the driver is a similar concept. |
