Title: Cubase/SW1000XG/WinXP stable?
Post by deadfly on Mar 5th, 2002, 6:26pm
I'm currently using Hubi's on a Windows ME machine. I'm about to get a new PC with Windows XP, so I need to switch to MIDI Yoke.
Does anybody have experience using it with Windows XP/Cubase/SW1000XG/XGEdit? The download screen says that this version of MIDI Yoke is not supported and describes it as a 'hack', which is a bit worrying.
Any advice on the subject would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Simon.

MIDI Yoke NT works under Windows XP.  The hack label refers to the fact that MIDI Yoke NT is a user mode driver only: there is no kernel mode component.  This is fairly unusual for a driver, but its operation is fairly unusual anyway: it takes data showing up at its output and spits it out of its input.

Thanks for that Jamie. I don't have a clue what a kernal mode is but you've reassured me that my new PC will be ok  :)
