Title: Problems with Cubase 5.1, midiyoke and XGPAD. Post by DjHulk on Jan 8th, 2002, 7:34am I use midiyoke to manipulate my SW1000XG in cubase thru XGPAD (new editor xg). I have two main problems: 1) Most of the times. I load the song in Cubase, and after, i load the instruments thru XGPAD, and the instruments dont change. If a restart my sistem, and i tried again, the problem it's fix, but i dont know why this happened. 2) The most of the times, when i composing, change filters on xgpad, suddenly, it's seems that the communication between xgpad and Cubase stopped. But in midi-ox, the sysextraffic continues if i manipulate the xgpad's knobs. I think that dont exist loopback. I use the following configuration. Perhaps i need to execute the programs in a sorted way, but i dont know if this is the problem. I execute first XGPAD, after midiox and after cubase. midiyoke port 1 like midi output in XGPAD. midyoke port 1 like midi in on Midi-OX midiyoke port 2 like miidi out on Midi-OX midiyoke port2 like midi in on Cubase. Sorry for my english. Any idea? Thanks. |

Title: Re: Problems with Cubase 5.1, midiyoke and XGPAD. Post by Jamie OConnell on Jan 8th, 2002, 12:32pm I have heard reports of SysEx pass-thru problems with Cubase. You should try a parallel connection instead of a serial one: MIDI Yoke port 1 like MIDI Output on XGPAD. MIDI Yoke port 1 like MIDI Output on Cubase. MIDI Yoke port 1 like MIDI In on MIDI-OX. SW1000XG port like MIDI Output on MIDI-OX MIDI Yoke ports are multi-client, so the configuration should work fine. 8) |

Title: Re: Problems with Cubase 5.1, midiyoke and XGPAD. Post by Jamie OConnell on Jan 10th, 2002, 1:17pm Your original post indicated that Cubase has a problem passing the SysEx through. I don't know how to fix that? What happens if you take MIDI-OX out of the Loop: midiyoke port 1 like midi output in XGPAD. midiyoke port 1 like midi in on Cubase. If it doesn't work, there is likely a problem with Cubase, as you could see that the SysEx data was passed thru MIDI-OX. You could also try to put MIDI-OX at the end of the chain to see what is coming out of Cubase: midiyoke port 1 like midi output in XGPAD. midiyoke port 1 like midi in on Cubase. midiyoke port 2 like midi out on Cubase. MIDI Yoke port 2 like MIDI In on MIDI-OX. SW1000XG port like MIDI Output on MIDI-OX |
