In the routing window, after assigning a translation map between ports and then saving, this assignment is lost on reload.

I solved the problem by re-saving my Translation Maps to the midiox default folder.
Apparently the profile save file can only point to translation maps in one location, which isn't what most users would assume.
Maybe the profile save file should contain the routed translation maps within itself?

Do you mean the Window called "MIDI Port Routing"?

I don't know how your workaround can work if one has more than one MIDI OX instance running.

I find that with my multiple identical Korg NanoKontrols it is not saved properly unless I have the drivers installed for them.
