Title: Keyboard Mapping Bug Post by abhunkin on Aug 31st, 2005, 7:56pm At least in Windows ME, checking "Turn on Computer Piano Keys Mapping" does not turn on computer key mapping after OK. It still must be done manually (by clicking on one of the icons). :-/ OTOH, checking "Turn Map On" works as advertised. Art Hunkins abhunkin@uncg.edu |

Title: Re: Keyboard Mapping Bug Post by Jamie OConnell on Sep 1st, 2005, 10:24am I'm not sure what you mean? "Turn on Computer Piano Keys Mapping", when checked, causes notes sent by the Computer MIDI Keyboard to be mapped instead of passed around any mapping. It doesn't turn on or off the Computer Keyboard itself. |

Title: Re: Keyboard Mapping Bug Post by abhunkin on Sep 1st, 2005, 1:21pm Hi, Jamie, Sorry not to be clear. On my (WinME) system, checking "Turn On Computer Piano Keys Mapping" does *not* do what you say it should. After hitting OK, the taskboard "KBD" does not illuminate; the toolbar's keyboard icon does not start blinking. To get keyboard mapping to "not be bypassed" you have to click on one of the above-mentioned icons. I simply mentioned the "Turn Map On" checkbox because, in contrast, it is obviously working correctly (it turns on its "MAP" taskbar icon). Art Hunkins |

Title: Re: Keyboard Mapping Bug Post by Jamie OConnell on Sep 2nd, 2005, 4:45pm I guess I wasn't clear. The ONLY way(s) to start the Computer MIDI Keyboard are to press the Icon on the toolbar, choose Actions | Keyboard, or to Press [KBD] on the Status bar. The Options | Data Mapping... options does not turn on the Computer MIDI Keyboard, and was never intended to. This is not a bug. |

Title: Re: Keyboard Mapping Bug Post by abhunkin on Sep 2nd, 2005, 11:53pm OK, Jamie. I think I've got it. Sorry for all the fuss. Am I sure glad you're around to clarify these things. This board, and your consistent monitoring of it, is a wonderful service - as valuable as is MIDIOx. Art Hunkins abhunkin@uncg.edu |
