Title: noteworthy composer to send sysex via midi-ox map Post by pattherat on Jan 3rd, 2025, 8:19am Concept: use send program change in NWC to send sysex data to yamaha ds-xg card by using a data mapping transform eg prog chg 127 -> sysex data Problem: when I send it to the ds-xg midi device, it hangs, and I have to do a midi close, midi open to get the ds-xg to work again So ....any clues on how to achieve it without hanging? Sending an XG reset from midi-ox doesn't hang it. Hmmm. Thanks in anticipation. |

Title: Re: noteworthy composer to send sysex via midi-ox Post by Breath on Jan 3rd, 2025, 6:57pm Hi sounds like the ds-xg doesn't like the sysex. What are you sending ? (you can check in the MidiOx Output Monitor) If you are not looking at the Monitors in Hex, right click and set the 'Display Hex' in the Output monitor to Hex then... Send the PC message again to send the sysex then.... right click monitor window and 'Mark for clipboard', drag across the sysex message to hi-light it , right click the window again 'Copy to clipboard'.... and paste the message back here so I can see it and try to help you sort it. Title: Re: noteworthy composer to send sysex via midi-ox Post by pattherat on Jan 4th, 2025, 6:45am SOLUTION? use a later version 7.0.0.2 is buggy | 7.0.2.372 is ok I have made some progress ... from noteworthy composer, or even from a midi keyboard, to any synth in the list, midi-ox hangs when I try to use a prog chg 127 to sysex data (XG mode on) data mapping transform. It's not the synth (all in the list are affected) - it's midi-ox hanging as soon as the F0 ... F7 data is sent out. ACCUSTAION: midi-ox hangs after sending sysex data out from a data map. Info: MIDI-ox v 7.0.0.365 windows 98se UPDATE: just noticed a later version 7.0.2.372 has improved sysex handling listed as a listed improvement ... I tried it on Win7 and it's all good. Data Map issued sysex commands don't hang midi-ox 7.0.2.372. |

Title: Re: noteworthy composer to send sysex via midi-ox Post by Breath on Jan 4th, 2025, 5:45pm OK Win98SE that is a blast from the past. It is always good to give machine and OS information when seeking help. Sounds like you are sorted now. If not post again. All the best Royce |
