Midi-ox + Sound Blaster Audigy + Moog Voyager

I'm trying to hook up my Moog Voyager to my PC w/ Sound Blaster Audigy (1) Platinum Pro, in order to send the preset bank to my computer to save it. This is done by sending a Sysex dump file. I have connected the cable to the Midi OUT on the Moog, and into the Midi IN port on the front of the Audigy (using the supplied adapter). The Moog has midi in and out enabled, and both set to channel 1. In midi-ox, I have turned Sysex "on", and set it to recieve manual dump. I trigger the sending from the moog, but no data ever sends. Can someone help me with this? I'm not sure what input / output devices to enable in midi-ox, as well as anything else that needs to be configured. Currently, I have "Audigy MIDI In" as the input in midi-ox. Do I need to specify an output? Am I ever supposed to see the Moog midi out port in midi-ox? If I'm doing anything wrong, please let me know. Thanks, shiftdelete

If you just use the input monitor window in MIDI OX, can you see any data at all (e.g. when you play notes) from the Voyager? To receive data into the PC, you should only need the MIDI Out on the Voyager connected to MIDI In on the PC, like you say you have. Double check it, though. Getting the cabling wrong would give you the effect you've got. (And no, you open MIDI ports on the PC you're running MIDI OX on. It can't see MIDI ports on the voyager. MIDI doesn't work like that.)

thanks for the reply. I have not seen anything on the input monitor. I'm going to try again tonight, and try every cable configuration possible. I didn't think it would show the moog as an output port.. but I was just checking to be sure. I will let you know if I get it to work.
