Cubase, Midi Controlling Effects

This does not pertain directly to midi-ox, i was just hoping someone on this board might know.

How does cubase determine what midi channel is effecting the effects?

My situation:

I have a midi-man oxygen 8 for a midi controller. I run this through MIDI-OX to transform the controller messages (so i don't have to manually change the parameters all the time). I have the oxygen 8's commands filtered out by CUBASE and it just recieves the date from MIDI-yolk.

This works great for controlling my VST synths. I make whatever the active channel and tada i'm turning knobs on my screen with ease. But when I pull up a VST effect, I cannot get the sliders to move!?

So I wonder, where does cubase think that the midi data is coming from, and how can I change it?

Oh help me all!  I just read this post through, and thought to myself, "HEY! Another Oxygen 8 midi-ox user!"

Reading a bit more i said, "HEY! I know how to solve this!"

I got to the end and looked up to see who the user was, and embarrasingly, It's me.

Hahaha.

Hi

I have a very similar set-up as you in that I use an Oxy8 into Cubase SX through MIDI-Ox and MIDI Yolk.  I have just got MIDI-Ox to map controller data (the MIDI monitor shows the controller changes) from the 8 controllers to suit various VSTi's, but I cannot get Cubase to recognise the MIDI data from MIDI Yolk, it still responds to the original Oxy8 CC values.

How did you set-up Cubase to filter out the Oxy8 MIDI commands so that it reads the data from MIDI Yolk.  I would also like to hear how you fixed your own problem with the effects.

Thanks in anticipation.
