Meltdown using MIDI Yoke with Finale + sfz

I've used MIDI Yoke (without midiOX) to connect sfz with Finale for quite some time and it usually works fine with a few instruments. But having all 16 channels active (Big Band stuff) seems to be more problematic.

It wont have a problem playing an arrangement from start to finish, but stopping playback in the middle of a phrase often sends the whoole setup into a stall (ie. appl hangup) sending sfz totally out of controll with some kind of mad-cow breakdown. I don't know what causes this but it's about to give me a brain tumor!

Anyone with a similar experience?

What would be the best way to connect Finale to an external softsynth anyway?
