Changing the number of devices

I have installed version 1.71 and now find that the number of Midi-Yoke devices is fixed at 8.
Unfortunately, I just installed a SECOND Sound Blaster card, and now my total number of midi out devices exceeds the number (about 24) which can be selected in MIDI-OX or other midi applications.
So, I have to reduce the total number of midi out devices to be shown in the device selection boxes. The best way for me is to cut back the number of Midi Yoke devices from 8 to 4. Unfortunately, it appears that this is no longer an option. I've even changed the Max number value in the MYOKE registry entry. Didn't have any effect.
Is there some way to do this without having to revert back to an earlier version?

No. MIDI Yoke is fixed at 8 devices. MIDI-OX lets you select up to 64 devices. If you need a virtual driver with less than 8, try the Mablesound drivers.

I've got a similar problem in that some of my applications only
support 8 total devices. With MIDI Yoke intalled those 8 are
all MIDI Yoke. I know there are at least several other posters
who have stated this as a problem and I'm sure all of us
would be willing to contribute towards a version where the
number of MIDI Yoke devices could be selected on installation =)
