cubase won't start when midiyoke installed

I run cubase VST32 5.1 and various other programmes through a sw1000xg and ds2416 setup under W2000pro (standard pc setup).
I have found that each time I install Midiyoke, cubase will no longer start up.
Also, the driver for my firewire connection goes missing, and a new unknown media hardware appears on my hardware manager list.
All other programmes work (including xgpad, recycle, battery) normally.
As soon as I deinstall midiyoke, and get rid of the dll, cubase works normally again, and the firewire driver is recognised again.
Does anyone know how I can get around this as I need the midicables?
I have a feeling this could be a common problem, but Help/guidance much appreciated.

Workaround for Cubase not starting up with Yoke installed:

_before_ launching cubase, open a yoke output port - or was it an input?, try yourself (i.e. by using midiox). The port just have to be opened once. You could the close midiox or not as you like and the launch cubase...it will work!

Thanks for the tip - I'll give it a go.

11.2.02 - I've found that if I start XGPad first, cubase loads perfectly.
