Odd swing in buzz->rebirth sync

I'm running WinXP, Buzz 1.2 and Rebirth 2.01, and the newest version of midi yoke. When sending a midi sync signal from Buzz (Rebirth 2 MIDI machine) the sync in Rebirth jumps from 120-160bpm randomly. It's as if there's a lot of latency in the loopback. Any idea what's going on? I've used the drivers successfully on other systems, even with an almost identical setup. I haven't resorted to installing a real MIDI hub on this machine and testing that way, but I'll do that if you have no suggestions. Thanks.

There is a possiblity for MIDI Yoke NT to have some latency. You might try placing MIDI-OX on each side of the MIDI Yoke port in separate tests to see if it experiences the same latency. I'd be interested in hearing about the results.

I'm having the same problem and it happens no matter what program i use. (have tried MED, Modix and Renoise as master programs and Reason and MadTracker as slaves)
Is there anyone who has this problem using Win2K or is it a WinXP problem?
I have not tried this thing with the Midi-Ox since Im not smart enough to really know what to do... 
If it wasn't for this I would call this lovely piece of code a trackers dream. The missing link between trackers and softsynts. Keep up the good work!!!

I'm afraid that a soft synth will take some time to sound after receiving a NoteOn instruction from MIDI. It's just a result of the extreme calculations that must be performed in order to make a sound on a software synthesizer. This is why technologies such as re-wire have been developed.

I dont think the softsynth latency is the issue, but the variable latency of the yoke. Unfortunately that makes it practically useless when it comes to using it for something where timing is important. I can't remember having this problem under win9x but I don't really feel like going back to the unstable win98 again

MIDI Yoke latency should be less than 2 millisec at worst. Again: I recommend you try hooking up 2 MIDI-OX instances connected by a MIDI Yoke port to see what the actual latencys are. Or play a MIDI File using MIDIBar hooked to a MIDI Yoke Port, and choose the same MIDI Yoke port as input to MIDI-OX. I think you may be surprised at how quick it really is. MIDI Yoke has solid timing: all it does is pass data through. Perhaps your trouble is elsewhere.
What I do when I'm testing is to setup 3 MIDI-OX instances and Play a MIDI file through MIDIBar:
[MIDIBar]->MY1->[MIDI-OX]->MY2->[MIDI-OX:2]->MY3->[MIDI-OX:3]->Out MU100R
The messages are instantaneously delivered to all 3 instances and heard on the output. Timing is rock-solid.
